Dysdera erythrina? => Dysdera sp.
« am: 2021-12-01 17:23:12 »
I found this one in a an old quarry. (Aywaille, Belgium)
Date : 29-03-2021
I read something about distinguishable from Dysdera crocata by the absence of blunt spines on the femur of leg IV.
So I' m thinking of Dysdera erythrina.

Best regards

Hello Johan;

I read something about distinguishable from Dysdera crocata by the absence of blunt spines on the femur of leg IV.
So I' m thinking of Dysdera erythrina.

Well, these spines are not particularly long and placed dorsally (on the upside) in the basal region of femur IV. I cant really see this region on your pictures. Therefore I'd not go further than Dysdera sp.

EDIT: Maybe someone else has another characteristic to distinguish these two species?

Regards,
Clemens

See this beautiful and asthetically pleasing comparison made by J-P Taberlet. However, I fear that all depicted features are either covered or not visible.

OK. Then I will try to photograph the correct parts next time. Thank you very much for the explanation.
