Dark little jumping spider => Euophrys sp.
« am: 2021-05-01 12:11:52 »
Gorgoglione, Province of Matera, Basilicata, Southern Italy.

Discovery date: April 21, morning, sunny.
Habitat: in the countryside, dangling from the visor of my hat.
Dimensions: about 2-3 mm.

Good morning.
I can't understand what this young/sub-adult male jumping spider  could be.
Thanks for your help.
Raf

A juvenil Euophrys male. Maybe E. herbigrada.

Ciao Michael, thank you.  :)

I archive it as Euophrys sp. or can I venture a cf. herbigrada?

Raf

P.S. I keep looking for Salticus for you, but so far still nothing.  :(

Euophrys sp.

If you still have the spider, you could bring it to maturity. The males are clearly identifiable.

Regards
Michael

PS: For me, you don't need to look around for Salticus any more. But I had already written to you. I got the material from somewhere else and the article is published.
