Alpine Wolfsspinne? (Zentral-Pyrenäen) => Pyrenecosa rupicola

Hallo miteinander,

ist das hier eine Wolfsspinne? Wenn ja, lässt die sich so bestimmen?

Funddaten: Frankreich, Zentralpyrenäen, zwischen Col de Tourmalet und Pic du Midi (also zwischen 2100m und knapp 2900m), 07.08.21

Hallo Chris,

die typische Augenanordnung in 3 Reihen verrät die Lycosidae. Der Fundort und das schlanke und langbeinige Erscheinungsbild sprechen für Acantholycosa, meiner Meinung nach.

In the Pyrénées one has  to be extremely careful with lycosid determination. Present there is also Pyrenecosa, e.g. P. rupicola (https://inpn.mnhn.fr/espece/cd_nom/457231). Given that there is only very little information on the somatic characters of these species and the pattern and color can very depending on the habitat (e.g. as in many species of sandy regions), I would not try to determine this even to the genus level.

In addition, en France, records of P. saturatior are only known from the Alps.

ich habe heute eine Antwort von  Sylvain Dejean zur Wolfsspinne erhalten:

Dear Christoph,

i think that the genus of this species is correct, and in this part of Pyreneous have only one species : Pyrenecosa rupicola.

She's common spider in scree oàf hight mountain !
