Gorgoglione, Province of Matera, Basilicata, Southern Italy.

Discovery date: November 19, morning.
Habitat: 700 m - in an oak forest, on a pillar of the veranda of an abandoned bungalow.
Dimensions: 6 mm.


Hi,
is it a female of Philodromus margaritatus or something else?

It's not very clear but I think it is margaritatus.

The spider was just as you see it, very dark.

Yesterday I also found this specimen near the place of the female (which was no longer there).
From the shape of the opisthosome and the relative length of the legs it should be a subadult male at the last moult, as can be seen from the comparative photo on araneae.ch.
Is my guess right, or is it an adult?

Personally I find the comparative photo on araneae.ch very eloquent, the first thing you notice is the different length of the legs, in adults they are conspicuously longer.
And the opisthosome in adults is less wide.
