Gnaphosa nigerrima <= new for Norway
« am: 2015-08-09 22:43:18 »
Just came back from a holiday trip to Norway, and ofc. collected spiders there.

My first spider under the stereomicroscope is a Gnaphosa sp, in my point of view a certain Gnaphosa nigerrima. However, this species has never been recorded for this country.

Am i just lucky, or is the norwegian spider fauna still poorly known?

see for details this web page (including photograph of the epigyne):

Catch locality was a small boggy area, with lateral flow of water into the nearby lake. Vegetation consisted of very well developed Sphagnum tussocks, with Betula nana, Vaccinium oxycoccus, Andromeda polifolia, etc. Also collected here: Pardosa sphagnicola, Alopecosa pulverulenta and Microlinyphia pusilla.

Hi

Congratulate with new species for Norway, it is a species that is expected to be found here, but great that it was you who found it.

I'll post it on the Norwegian Forum so that it can get

on the Norwegian list

Amazing. i think it was the second spider i collected in Norway, and the first one to put under the stereomicroscope.

I just asked for a forum account for the norwegian forum, but feel free to post a link to this thread.
