Phalangiidae from Tenerife
« am: 2016-07-19 20:41:08 »
Hello, please help me with identification of these harvestmen. All are from forest in Anaga mountains (Tenerife, Canary Islands). Sorry for bad photos, all specimens (and more) I have in alcohol, later I can made better pictures from microscope. ;) Some tip for papers about Opiliones from Canary Islands? I have only general arachnids checklist..
Thank you.

Interesting. Not many articles on Harvestmen from this country. Simon (1883), Roewer (1911, 1923), Rambla (1956, 1975, 1978) and Starega (1972, 1973) have done some works on it. The most interesting in the paper of Rambla of 1956 with a first small list of species (with some corrections and additions):
Bunochelis spinifera (Lucas, 1839)
Bunochelis canariana (Strand, 1911)
Metadasylobus fuscoannulatus (Simon, 1883)
Parascleropilio fernandezi Rambla, 1975
Maiorerus randoi Rambla, 1993 (only in caves)

Not the last one. Some could be new species.

I can say : not Parascleropilio fernandezi too ! The first one, a possible Metadasylobus, a male.

The third one looks like Metadasylobus fuscoannulatus (Simon 1883) ♀ (Opiliones Phalangiidæ Phalangiinæ): https://www.flickr.com/photos/132574141@N04/32697635283

Hello, thank you very much for your answers! I forgot about this thread. :)
Are you interested about this opiliones material from Tenerife (only about 5 specimens)? If yes, send me email.
