Gorgoglione, Province of Matera, Basilicata, southern Italy.

Discovery date: 12 May, 11:30 am.
Habitat: 800 m - in the village, on the external wall of an uninhabited house. Nearby there are debris and tufts of low grass.
Dimensions: about 5 mm.

Hello,
can we determine this male as Salticus (cf.) cingulatus?
Thanks.
Raf

More than the genus cannot be determined from the photo. In your region several species are possible. But you know that.  ;)

Given the size of the chelicerae, S. unciger, for example, could also be considered.

Yes, sure, I know, Michael, but it looks very similar to a spider on Pierre's website, and I thought ...
The spider suddenly slipped into a crack in the wall and never came out.
I missed the opportunity to pay him a trans-European ticket (Tegel)
. I never found him again the next day.
Thanks Micha.
Greetings from southern Italy.
