Arctosa maculata?
« am: 2020-10-13 12:43:45 »
Gorgoglione, Province of Matera, Basilicata, Southern Italy.

Discovery date: 8 September, 11 am.
Habitat: 600 m - under the pebbles of a small stream.
Size: 6mm measured.

Hello,
I assume a male of Arctosa maculata, especially for the design in the center of the prosoma.
What do you think?
Thanks.
Raf

Good evening.
I have read the forum posts related to Arctosa maculata and have noticed that there is a possible confusion with Arctosa stigmosa.
I have also read that the 2 species differ in the length of the prosoma.
Therefore, hoping that the animal belongs to one of the two species, I attach a photo with the size of the spider, hoping it will be useful.
Thank you.
Raf
