Gorgoglione, Province of Matera, Basilicata, Southern Italy.
Date of discovery: December 19, morning.
Habitat: 800 m - about 1 km from the town, on an iron barrier on the side of the road; on the other side of the barrier there is a ravine with young oaks, some vegetable garden and vegetation.
Size: about 3-4mm.
Good morning.
This spider I cannot identify, yet its appearance is not new to me, I have doubts even about the family.
The design on the prosoma should be distinctive but I haven't found anything like it on the web. It could look like a very young
Metellina merianae, but I'm not too convinced, or it could be a Linyphiidae (?phantes) or, ultimately, a Theridiidae that I don't know.
Can you help me?
Thanks.
Raf
