Young Zora? => Zora cf. manicata
« am: 2021-04-01 13:38:11 »
Gorgoglione, Province of Matera, Basilicata, Southern Italy.

Discovery date: March 16, morning, partly sunny.
Habitat: 700 m - on the edge of an oak forest, between the litter of dead leaves and the stone bricks clearing in front of an abandoned building.
Dimensions: 3 mm.

Hello,
I think this spider is a young Zora.
Nonetheless, is there a possibility of arriving at the species?
Thanks.
Raf

Ah, two species.
Zora sp. therefore.

On the wiki I read that nemoralis is, of the two, the forest species and lives in the leaf litter.
The place is on the edge of a beech wood, before this wood there are the firs. The oaks are in another place.

Thanks Simeon.

But how many metatarsal spines do you see? I am not sure if there is a third or not.

Aha, allora questo particolare è valido anche negli esemplari giovani.

Dovrei avere una foto ventrale dove si vede qualcosa in più.

Prepare for nemoralis. ;)

Too bad, I thought I had better photos, but instead ...
I don't know if they are useful, on the first one it seems to see 3 thorns, but ...

Metatarsus of the right leg I:

Which legs, please?
On the wiki I read that manicata has two pairs of spines on the metatarso I and II.

In which case, I have these 2 photos of the left metatarso II

Me neither.  :D
Zora cf. manicata at the edge of a wood, then.

Thanks Simeon.

Happy Easter holidays and greetings from southern Italy to everyone.
